Lizzo has opened up to her fans about ‘feeling sad’ in a tearful video, confessing that she feels ‘like a burden to everyone’.
The singer revealed she was already in a low mood and thinking that ‘nobody cares about you’ was making her feel worse.
Breaking down in tears, she added that she wants to remember she is ‘loved’ but admitted she was finding it difficult.
In a video shared on her TikTok page, a teary Lizzo, wearing a striped top with her hair up in a bun, repeatedly wiped her eyes with a tissue through what she felt was an ’embarrassing’ moment.
The Juice singer said: ‘You know that part of sadness where you feel like a burden on everyone and annoying and nobody cares about you? Can we get rid of that part?
‘It’s like yo, I’m already sad. You gotta add insult to injury that I have no one to talk to about it. It’s crazy. Like why do we feel this way? Why do we feel this way when we get sad?
‘I don’t wanna feel this way any more. I wanna feel like I do have someone to talk to, people do care about me. I am loved. I’m not alone.
‘That’s how I want to feel but I don’t feel like that. This is embarrassing.’
The musician received heaps of love and support from her TikTok followers which she thanked them for in a follow up video, explaining she was feeling ‘much better’ after a ‘dark’ night reflecting on her life (we’ve been there).
In a further clip she shared a comment from a fan which read: ‘Transparency. You are a lot more inspiring and relatable than you think. Read the room. You are loved. We love you!’
Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson, said: ‘Thanks guys. I’m feeling better. I had a really rough night and a very emotional morning just thinking about relationships and life an you know how it is, it gets dark.
‘I’m definitely glad I reached out in any way that I could and TikTok was one of those ways. To feel received and seen and heard really really helped me.
‘I’m not crying any more. I’m gonna drink some tea and take a bath and post some food videos and put a little bit of love and positivity in the world.’
She continued: ‘Thank you so much again. I love you guys, and if you’re going through things just know you’re not alone. You’re definitely not and I love you.’
Of course Lizzo stayed true to her word about spreading positivity over the weekend, uploading a fun dance video with her mum Shari dancing around her house for Mother’s Day.
