Simon Cowell gets face full of cream pie in America's Got Talent S16 trailer

Simon Cowell got a pie to the face in hilarious scenes in the brand new trailer for the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent.

Fellow judge Howie Mandel delivered the brutal just dessert and made sure the plate of cream got the music mogul all over his pristine visage, leaving all but a little spot on his forehead covered.

But it wasn’t just Simon who got pied, as Howie had fallen victim to the same prank just seconds earlier by the co-star Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara also found herself in the firing line.

Giving feedback to the mystery contestant who no doubt sparked the messy hellfire, Howie told reminded them:  ‘There’s a million dollars at stake.’

Simon, who was still covered in cream, added: ‘You’ve got to take this more seriously.’

This brand new teaser comes after the initial season 16 trailer which saw Simon return to the show for the first time since he broke his back after falling off an electric bike last year.

Stating that this year’s competition is celebrating joy and happiness as he enthused: ‘The overriding tone is that we got through it, and now doing this show means more than anything else.’

Simon is getting back to full fitness following his terrifying accident last August, which saw him need six hours of gruelling surgery.

He was also forced to pull out of his TV commitments for the rest of the year to recover.

After the accident, the TV talent judge tweeted: ‘Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.

‘I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.

‘And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone Simon.’

America’s Got Talent returns on Tuesday, June 1 on NBC.
