Millions of Muslims around the globe will be celebrating Eid al-Fitr today, marking the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan.

With celebrations being scaled down this year as lockdown restrictions remain in place, a text or call to a loved one this holiday is bound to make their day.

You may be familiar with the Arabic expression ‘Eid Mubarak’, which translates as ‘have a blessed Eid’ in English, but did you know that there are other ways to wish your friends or family a happy Eid?

Here is how to say ‘Happy Eid’ in 11 different languages.

Arabic

• عيد مبارك (Eid Mubarak) – ‘Have a blessed Eid’
• تقبل الله مناومنكم (Taqabalallahu minna wa minkum) – ‘May Allah accept your and our right doings’
